TRTs Affect on Sperm Health
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) can significantly reduce or even halt sperm production by suppressing natural testosterone and sperm-generating hormones. This can lead to infertility, which may be irreversible in some cases. Freezing sperm before starting TRT is a proactive and reliable step to safeguard future fertility. By preserving sperm in advance, individuals undergoing testosterone therapy can ensure they have viable reproductive options later in life.
Andrew's Journey to Parenthood
"When I decided to start testosterone therapy, I had no idea it could affect my fertility. My doctor recommended sperm freezing, and I’m so glad I took that step. A few years into TRT, my sperm count was nearly zero, but thanks to CryoChoice, my wife and I were able to conceive using my frozen sperm. Today, we have a beautiful baby boy, and I’m beyond grateful that I planned ahead." — Andrew W., 34

What if I am already on Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)?
If you’re already on Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT), CryoChoice offers an Analyze Sperm option to assess your sperm count and quality. This test helps determine if you still have viable sperm for freezing.

Benefits of Analyzing and Testing Sperm
- Identifies whether sperm production is still active despite TRT.
- Provides insight into fertility potential before making further decisions.
- Helps you explore options such as pausing TRT to restore sperm production if needed.
- Offers peace of mind by giving you a clear understanding of your reproductive health.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Testosterone Replacement Therapy
Does TRT Lower Sperm Count?
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) suppresses the body's natural production of testosterone, which in turn reduces levels of key hormones needed for sperm production. As a result, many individuals on TRT experience a significant drop in sperm count, and in some cases, fertility may not fully recover even after stopping treatment.
How long can sperm be stored?
Sperm can be safely stored indefinitely using advanced cryopreservation techniques. Studies have shown that properly frozen sperm can remain viable for decades, preserving fertility options well into the future without significant degradation in quality.
What are the costs involved in Freezing or Analyzing Sperm?
The cost of sperm freezing varies depending on factors such as the number of samples stored and the duration of storage. CryoChoice offers competitive pricing with flexible storage plans, making long-term sperm preservation an affordable and convenient option.
Can sperm be used for IVF or IUI later?
Yes, frozen sperm can be successfully used for both in vitro fertilization (IVF) and intrauterine insemination (IUI) to achieve pregnancy. When stored correctly, frozen sperm maintains its ability to fertilize an egg, providing a reliable solution for future family planning.
How much sperm should I store?
All samples are stored in 1.5mL vials. The number of vials per sample depends on the amount of sperm produced in the sample. The average is around 2-3 vials. Most fertility procedures use between 1-3 vials per fertility attempt, and it could take multiple attempts to produce a pregnancy. Multiple samples are generally chosen by our clients to optimize their chances of parenthood. Multiple kit discounts are available.
What is your return policy?
Unused Kits– Within fifteen (15) days from purchase and before your sample has been processed, you may request a refund. All monies paid will be refunded minus a $75 Kit Fee (per kit) and shipping charges.
